Smoking does cost the NHS a lot, but so do obesity and age and yet these are not taxed so heavily.

I have a friend who is a heavy smoker who never plans to have kids, and asks why should his taxes be used to pay for other people's childrens' education.

This is from a position of £1.5BN in the black last year.

And the Quango Man on the radio had the temerity to suggest it was nothing to do with too many Quangos or too many managers.

I heard that they underestimated the true cost of the treatment of smoking related illnesses by a measly £4bn.

Our caring Dept. of Health has issued some words of wisdom to help those currently out of work; "The Department of Health said: "If someone is feeling down after losing their job, the best solution is a new job."

Worth every penny!
