I have this one and its pretty good. It can store 160 ebooks but you can store thousands if using memory card slots. it can open pdf, word doc and text files. The newer version has got slightly bigger screen other than that i did not find any difference. I bought it on a sale at house of fraser for 150 quid. Never bought any ebook , why pay for them when they are freely available on the net.

The Sony PRS-600 is also available now - reviews seem favourable, although it lacks the contrast of the 505 due to the touch screen.

BUT, if anyone fancies taking one for the team and clicking on the sexpornogid.ru one, feel free to post screenies.

To answer the OP though, someone posted not long ago about the Kindle 2 coming to the UK so i'd mebbe wait to see what happens and make a decision based on reviews of the Kindle vs Sony.

I really fancy one but a lot of my reading is done in the bath, how do they cope with water, steam and Radox?

I got one last week and so far am pretty impressed. Haven't bought any books yet but have downloaded a number of free ones (i.e. When Sysadmins Ruled the World and the Kama Sutra) Have a look at this link:

I have the Sony E-Reader. Pretty handy and is a lot easier to read on than a mobile phone. You should be able to get one of them in a Sony store and am unsure if you can get it from any other high street shop.

If space is a premium, why not use a library ?

You can hire a book from them, read it, then return it.

No more cluttering up bookshelves, and best of all, it's free !

  • The Sony PRS505S Sony PRS-505 E Book Reader any good ?

I read many books on planes, trains and the London Underground and space is at a premium in my flat so I fancy buying an e-book reader.

I know that e-books have very limited availability say at Water Stones in the UK but I know you can get e-books from other sources e.g. the US websites. My question to you all is do you have any experience of this Sony E book Reader ? are there any better ones out there ? how do you rate it ?

I am particularly interested in how it handles the import of Microsoft Word documents and PDF files; also if these file types are easily readable on the device as I have heard 'rumours' that the PDF files on standard A4 are a little difficult to read on it and also it is difficult to 'turn the page' on the device !

I'm wondering wether I should just wait for the Nokia N97 phone to come out and see how that handles Word Doc/ File PDF import on Symbian and also the reading of documents on the display ....

PS: I Do not want to spend £200 on junk.
As always your advice and opinions are valued and much sought after...
