Anyone else fancy an afternoon of letter writing?Originally posted by DaveB View PostA short. polite letter to the chief constable of the force in whose jurisdiction the fraud took place detailing the grounds for the complaint should do the trick. Likewise to the appropriate tax office for HMRC.
Who'd have thought, CUK could change the world?

The discrediting and ultimate dissolution of the British Politcal Class remains our indispensible objective - the Public must be persuaded to reject the British Political system to embrace its replacement - the superior New World Order Government.Last edited by Central-Scrutiniser; 14 May 2009, 12:02.

Is there any etiquet over who can make these complaints? Does it have to be Parliament or can anyone do it?
I for one would love to, in fact all of us that have an MP who has been named and shamed should consider it our democratic duty to put in a complaint to the police.
"Come the revolution...." Well that revolution may be already here?

A complaint has been made.

The MOD are incredibly strict. Any expenses fiddle, no matter how small, can result in summary dismissal AND loss of pension.Originally posted by thelace View PostAt my previous gig, a technical manager was sacked for fiddling £250 on his expenses...
But then, they do send you to meetings on a 1st class travel warrant, provide transport to take/collect you from the station etc.

This is correct, Police will only investigate fraud cases when a complaint is made to bring their attention to it, likewise HMRC unless they turn it up as part of an investigation instigated elsewhere.

The police may still bat it away saying that the individual concerned has claimed it was an honest mistake and that there is no way to prove otherwise. HMRC may be a bit more tenacious.

HMRC should do him for tax evasion
The Serious Fraud Office should charge him with fraud
The Labour Party should kick him out
But I'll bet none of these happen. He'll probably end up as the new speaker, or in the House of Lords.
The OP is right, Morley was also a worse than useless minister.

MPs are not employees. They can be chucked out of the party, kicked off the cabinet, but the PM cannot stop them being MPs.Originally posted by TonyEnglish View PostWhy not sack him?
And that £800 per month or 18 months wasn't a mistake. He was trying it on.

I would have thought a knock from the fraud squad would have been appropriate.
Is nobody questioning the comptancy of these individuals to run the country? They can't even manage to do their expenses according to a simple set of rules FFS.

This was all over the news this morning and they were saying that Brown should remove the whip from this guy and effectively make him an independant. Why not sack him? If anybody in any role was caught fiddling their expenses like this they would be facing serious criminal charges.

I really don't think anyone can expect to believe that his fraud was a "mistake".
if it was a mistake then really he doesn't deserve to be running **** all with accounting skills like that.
