    Yeah quite often you end up stirring the previous contractors porridge - no-one likes that.

    Can I just say it's always heartwarming to hear a contractor getting a gig direct. Thats gotta be a self-actualising moment.

    I myself did a deal with my current clientco, who wanted me on a fixed-term permy-type contract, but I did a deal with the agent so they only got a one-off finders fee, and I got to go direct. The agents commission of *at least* $10/hour would have been $20,000 in the last year, which I got instead.

    Way to go...

    Only bit of advice I have is to be aware of the fact that some say "never return to a previous client". I`ve done it twice personally, returning to two different clients, with one client it was good and the second fine but a little bumpy - it just wasn`t the same second time around
