...the second fine but a little bumpy - it just wasn`t the same second time around
Yeah quite often you end up stirring the previous contractors porridge - no-one likes that.
Can I just say it's always heartwarming to hear a contractor getting a gig direct. Thats gotta be a self-actualising moment.
I myself did a deal with my current clientco, who wanted me on a fixed-term permy-type contract, but I did a deal with the agent so they only got a one-off finders fee, and I got to go direct. The agents commission of *at least* $10/hour would have been $20,000 in the last year, which I got instead.
Congrats.
Only bit of advice I have is to be aware of the fact that some say "never return to a previous client". I`ve done it twice personally, returning to two different clients, with one client it was good and the second fine but a little bumpy - it just wasn`t the same second time around
Just had a call from a previous client I had a meeting with 4 weeks ago and they want me back!!! Going direct with a great rate (considering the recession) start in a few weeks.. Although I won't be comfortable until contract is signed..
Been on the bench 4 months so its a welcome relief
Many congratulations and felicitations old bean. That's the reward for pleasing the client (or beating your old colleagues into submission).
Good on ya buddy just what I like to hear contractor 1 agency, well who frack cares. My war chest will probably last another month untill I need to dig a big hole to crawl into...
