I took mine to specialist (non main dealer) who did a fantastic job, not cheap (£352) but highly recommended. The mechanics there mainly work on TVR and Lotus so they've had plenty of practice.Originally posted by Cyberman View PostI went to a main dealer two years ago and paid 400 quid for a full service. Within days my brakes seized up and my head gasket blew. Now I prefer to do my own servicing.

What, no rant about how it's all Labour (or their voters) fault? Disappointing C-Originally posted by Cyberman View PostI went to a main dealer two years ago and paid 400 quid for a full service. Within days my brakes seized up and my head gasket blew. Now I prefer to do my own servicing.

Didn't make myself clear, it's still a Ford main dealer - it's just cheaper than the one up in London.Originally posted by gingerjedi View PostI agree that main dealers may charge over the odds but I'd rather go with reputation when it comes to a service, it's no good spending half if they just clean up the plugs with a wire brush and top it up with vegetable oil when you've paid for platinum’s and fully synthetic.

She drives down to a dealer near her parents house in Kent though - labour is half the price of the local Ford dealer.
