They're generally only eaten at special occaisions these days and of course by tourists . There's a farm in the north of Peru IIRC that breeds massive (25lb) ones.
I prefer alpaca myself.

I was making my measurements based on the carrot. Of course it's difficult without knowing the size of the carrot, it may be a very large carrot.
Do they moult ?
Not really, but they do eat their own poo, its not just the usual poo, they create special 'soft' poo to eat
Actually they're bigger than they look - I was thinking of a pair of ladies slippers, you just need to scoop them out.....
