I think most (maybe even all) Asian MPs currently represent Labour, and Labour are just about to make themselves unelectable for the next 4 elections.
Boris Johnson is of Asian decent [sic] - does he count?
No - itll be Tories more than likely - but Labour may be back sooner! Tories will be getting in under the worst time possible and if the dont turn things around within 3 odd years - theyll easily be out - especially as Labour will then "reinvent" themselves but removing anyone associated with the current lot and playing on the "new new labour"
But if you arent white - youll understand it more...especially if you are Black.
The best programme on such issues I saw was when that women went out as a white women which she was, then got made up to be Black - the difference in how she was spoken to, treated and responded to was shocking
Why? I'm merely observing that the education system here does not seem to be working for ethnic minorities since it took someone educated outside to make it to the top.
HTH.
That's got more to do with the dumbing down of our education system by the current HMG and the refusal to accept that not everybody will achieve the highest standards. Thus they lower the pass-rate to give everybody a token and worthless qualification. 50% of students going to university with a subsequent high rate of drop-outs says it all.
Just to interject...yes I do actually. Bearing in mind what is currently on offer, if someone who knew what they were doing but who had blue and yellow striped skin came forward, I think people are that hacked off with the current crop of politicians they would probably vote for him.
... and so do I. There is no barrier in this country to genuinely talented individuals. The USA have a 'black' President and I can envisage a 'black' Prime Minister within 50 years. In fact, I envisage a muslim leader will ride to power on the back of a religious vote before too long and the UK could well be a majority muslim state.
You really think we could have a black (or even half-black) Prime Minister?
You really do live in cloud cuckoo land.

Apparently, Disraeli, while born into a jewish family, was babtised into the church of England at age 12 and Tony Blair waited till after he stood down from the post of prime minister to officially convert to catholicism....
Spoilsport. Anyway, has Israel ever had a C of E PM?
We've had a Jew, and a woman, before most Western countries.

It clearly states.....First Black CEO of any "FTSE 100" .....
D'oh, reading comprehension down the pan today.
So out of a grand total of 100 companies this is the first black CEO. Big deal, I wonder how many people from Cumbria or Aberdeen have been the CEO of a FTSE 100?
It's a meaningless statistic with a tasty political spin.
I can't believe that this guy is the first black CEO in the UK, maybe they mean the first black person to become CEO of one of the older large British companies.
There are plenty of black people in this country who own or run successful large businesses, some are British born and bred and some immigrated here.
