This poll is based on false premise. If I can't get a contract, no-one's likely to give me a job in Tescos either. OTH I don't consider it "beneath me" I have done a load of real tuplie jobs in the past and would again if I had to - the problem with recessions is even all the tulipe jobs are taken.

Or economists?
Or trained anything?

Sad really.

60 hours a week breaking chicken for the man in KFC ain't going to pay the bills on this gaff anyway. I used to have principles but when they are putting illegals up in 1 million quid houses then what is the point of them?

20 bottles of cider a week that is. There are a few people round here saying that 150 a day is OK just now doing a job, 60 quid a week is ok for doing nowt.Originally posted by DieScum View PostHow much would you get though? 60 quid a week and only if you could hide all your savings.

I meant to ask about that. These days, apparently, if nothing you're trained for is available they can ask you to work in the "entertainment" industry. So who here would agree to work as a rent boy (or, for the ladies, prossie) if push came to shove?Originally posted by minestrone View PostI have worked constantly from the age of 14 and some of these jobs I had to do were real crap, 100 hours a week in butcher shops type stuff.
As I pointed out to my teacher friend recently my tax input alone has paid for a teacher's wages for the last 6 years.
I work mainly in the financials and if I cannot get a job by Christmas then all my savings will be moved offshore and I will present myself at the labour exchange. I have done my share and if the PM has cost me a market then he should be paying for me. It's my turn to get something back.
I presume those who ticked the AndyW option would be up for it

I guess I would.
And I may have too. Current contract has been extended for 12 days, untill the end of the financial year. After then who knows, I may end up at Manchester city council on £16 an hour
