Stand back a bit and look at the West's energy policies, you'd have to say that with some exceptions these are the actions of people who are happy with the current geopolitical situation. I'm not.

But the Trident fleet is an anachronism... Actually, the main nuclear defence we need is a programme to build several dozen nuclear power stations, so that we can have energy independence in the coming lean times.
