There must be a reason why these people from other EU (and non-EU) countries want to go to the UK rather than stay in their own countries or go to other prosperus EU countries and I rather think that it has nothing to do with the EU old chap....Originally posted by Flashman View PostMaybe let millions from Eastern and Southern Europe into our country?

How much worse can it get?

Sounds threatening. There is a mounting anger in EU circles over the slide in sterling, seen by some as a deliberate 'beggar-thy-neighour' policy evoking the Great Depression. "The 30pc fall in the pound is the biggest devaluation by any country in the single market since it was created in 1957," said one ex-commissioner. "There is going to be a serious political reaction to this in coming weeks."

Mind you the cost of leaving the Euro could be astounding.
Printing money (establishing mints in many cases)
Conversion of currencies in bank accts retail and wholesale outlets and businesses
Legislation
Central banks
Taxation
Probably loads of other factors.
I can't see changing currency as being a cheap operation to do in times of extreme financial stress.

Agree! It's a joke - and in another 3-4 months when it sinks more we can laugh at the cheese eating engineering twatsOriginally posted by PM-Junkie View PostMore irrelevant dross from the ECB. The British economy isn't welcome, but tin pot economies like Greece are. Well go figure.
Why on earth we would want to join a currency when the balance of probabilities is that people will leave it now that it is become more and more apparent how screwed the eurozone is is beyond me.

With such an incompetent Government, we can only expect our economy to suffer at the expense of our electorate.
Lies, lies and yet more lies.

Did you read the article, cretin?
"The pound's recovery this week from near parity to €1.09 may help blunt criticism. The euro's Winter rally is petering out as grim data emerges from across Europe. "
