Well you can always watch 'Demons' on ITV on Saturday. Although I thought it was so bad I'd rather stab myself in the face than sit through another episode...

I would imagine you really need to watch the TV series to appreciate the film, it assumes you know who everyone is since it was basically made for the fans after Whedon had a big strop with Fox. The series has far more humour as well.Originally posted by Pogle View PostI loved Buffy & Angel but was hugely disappointed when I saw Serenity, I didn't rate it at all.

Oooh Dark Skies, I'd forgotten about that, I used to love it.
But none of these is a patch on Bab 5.
Although DW is still the best (and longest running) Sci fi series

Did they show them all over here? They are included on the DVD box set I think.Originally posted by zeitghostI don't think they showed all the episodes in the States.
Blimey, I remember that - I stuck with it for a while but then Sky/SciFi seemed to muck around with the schedule and moved it.Originally posted by zeitghostAnd that weird Odyssey Five thing was ok.
That was a good series too.Originally posted by zeitghostDark Skies had the advantage of Jerry Ryan too... (before the catsuit).

I quite enjoyed the mutual decontamination scenes between T'Pol and Hoshi in the latest "Enterprise" incarnation of the franchiseOriginally posted by zeitghostI see you're getting the points...
Sci-Fi at its very best...

And so very wrong! TB4 lived in pod 4 and was the only one whose number was fixed! ISTR that most of the other vehicles such as Firefly, The Mole and those little tractors that saved Fireflash came out of various other pods with different numbers.Originally posted by PM-Junkie View PostFirefly is the vehicle Thunderbirds used to fight fires. Normally lived in TB2 Pod 4.
....I am so very sad

So Wikipedia told me, my wife is a fan of that show so maybe I shall by her the DVDs as a giftOriginally posted by voodooflux View PostJewel Staite - she's also in the current season of Stargate Atlantis.
Wikipedia also told me we're the same age, unfortunately she has a much cooler name than me.

That was a great series too, cancelled in its prime and left on a real cliffhanger I recall. I was quite fond of Kristen "The Lips" Cloke (she played "Vansen") at the timeOriginally posted by d000hg View Post... just like Space: Above and Beyond (from the 90s).
A mate of mine has a real thing for Jewel Staite - she's also in the current season of Stargate Atlantis.Originally posted by d000hg View PostAm I the only one who thinks the engineer in Firefly is hot? A bit unconventionally so, albeit.

If you like Sci-Fi and/or anything else by Joss Whedon (i.e. Buffy) it's worth a punt, except if you like it you'll be pissed when it ends and you know it's cancelled... just like Space: Above and Beyond (from the 90s).Originally posted by gingerjedi View PostComplete series for £12.99 on play.com, not seen it myself but I'm willing to give it a go at that price, TV tends to take a dive this time of year.

I loved the series, but was always a little disapointed by the film. But still worth watching.

Firefly / Serenity is basically a space opera with a Wild West theme.
The film of the same series 'Serenity' was actually quite good, I didn't like the series though.
