I have a behemoth of a desk salvaged from scrap, which my wife keeps trying to get me to throw away. I did have to saw off about 18 inches to make it fit in my study when we reorganised things but it's still too wide for me to reach both ends and too deep for me to reach the back leaning forward from my seat It's staying until we move, wife or no wife!

My rates haven't changed by much. In fact IT Security contracts have remained fairly steady for the past 2 years. Some companies pay more since the recession has started in order to attract quality contractors. Where as with permies... companies know that they can get away with paying tripe because they know some people want "Job Security".

started a topic Am I beyond help?

    Am I beyond help?

Got a corner desk facing towards the main office, so feeling very smug at getting a fairly prime desk.

Proudly sporting the Dilbert calendar that I got in the teams secret santa.

Annoyed about a colleague yapping on about drivel like a radio with a broken off switch.

Smug at getting in by 7am knowing I can walk out of the door at 3pm.

Hoping we get loads of snow tomorrow so I can work from home on the VPN.

Think I am getting too settled as a permie……
Working...
