Probably, it's a given name - that guy comes from areas close to where Chingiskhan lived, at some point he controlled big part of Russia, the only invador who managed so for a long time.

we would welcome them arms open. We already have one of the great Oligarchs, and SASguru can give Mandleson a run for his money.Originally posted by KathyWoolfe View PostDo you think even CUK'ers would be so undiscriminating as to make friends with them?

Isn't it great to have Mandelson back? A real achiever, he wasted no time getting back into the sleaze headlines.Originally posted by DodgyAgent View PostThere is a difference. Osbourne is not in power and he did not accept any party donations. He is a foll for having got involved with this evil Russian in the first place.
On the other Mandleson's involvement has potentially far reaching implications.

Still, let's not allow the facts about Tory sleaze to get in the way of your desperate desire to only think well of that bunch of lying scuzzballs, eh, Cyberman?

He now owns a lot more than that, he is very closely linked to the Kremlin - I don't understand why MI5 is not briefing key ministers and opposition frontbench about people they should not meet, especially on their ship and especially while being in a hostile country.Originally posted by Peoplesoft bloke View PostI heard Oleg Deripaska described as an Aluminium Magnate - but surely Aluminium is non-ferrous?

National interest would have been if Mandelson was increasing tariffs on alluminium, not dropping them - and he should have met owners of Corus rather than someone else. It may have been acceptable meeting IF Mr Deripaska owned Corus or something like this.Originally posted by Lambros View PostAtW ~ Peter Mandelson was forced to humble himself in the national interest by sharing the hospitality of a Russian billionaire. And what does he get from his hospitality? Abuse from the press.
