That was in the optional rules for advanced play, wasn't it?

It was one of the first games I ever played on a computer - to be precise, it was written in DEC BASIC, loaded from paper tape and running on a PDP-8/e, with an ASR-33 Teletype (text only, obviously) as the user interface

My mate had one of these but I thought it was too heavy. Ok it had gears but even in low you couldn't drag the thing up hills. I had a gx2000 or something. It was great as it had a drum brake on the back and a back peddle brake whch meant that you could leave really long black lines as it locked the back wheel as soon as you hit it.
