Well I have just had one hell of a week with this one client.
They're a grocers' shop and I'm a professional IT consultant. But insisted they knew how to do my job better than me. They just wanted some kind of easy-to-get-on-with yes-man, but their project is going to go down the lav unless I do it properly, so I've got to be cruel to be kind.
Their Change Control team don't even know how to set up HP ServiceCenter for pity's sake, and all their test scripts have two expected results instead of one.
Yesterday I just casually remarked to the girl on reception/checkout that I was popping out to Waitrose for lunch and she burst into tears.
The last straw was when I tried to back into the building after lunch. They had some kind of self-service security system, and an alarm went off saying there was an "unexpected salesman in the bagging area" or some such nonsense. Their security guard came running up and started doing a Jimmy Riddle on my Gucci loafers, so I was jolly grateful when the store manager escorted me past the Krispy Kreme stand and the Fireman Sam ride, and out of the building.

There is a fear factor for those working with him. Some projects need a barsteward contractor, but, we just want a decent easy to get on with person, which this loon is not.
Yesterday he was abusive to the head receptionist and used his pass to scan in his company’s sales chap who we have banned from the building, and denies this. Security director for the area involved.
Finally, he has apologised to the receptionist and told the security chaps here that he recorded the apology and replayed it to him.
As the senior manager said to me as he was asking him to leave the building – the security madness meant he did not have to have the bad at his job chat.
Going to make sure that I am walking to my car with a colleague tonight!!
Could write a book on the madness of the week.
Apart from your friends on cuk that is......

Sounds like one of the contractors I worked with - spent the last 2 weeks of contract redoing the last 2 months of his work putting the process maps back into the standard format...........................AND he was on more money then I was
