Politicians are role models and should be above reproach. There is no way that a man with Mandelson's record of sleaze should be in government, especially in the cabinet. I think most people in the UK have had enough of lies, spin and deceit, and it is time for an era of honesty in politics.
Mandie is despicable sleazy scum, but saying he is to blame for the credit crunch is like saying Jeffrey Archer and Jonathan Aitken are to blame for the fact that so many people tell lies in courts.

I'm surprised he WANTS to come back given the gravy train he must've been riding in Brussels.
People like him can't help themselves - it's like fatso Clarke still being under the crazy misapprehension that anyone gives a tulip what he thinks about anything.
I did wonder about Jackboot Blunkett and Fatso safety elephant Clarke, but I think they have blotted their copybooks by being too outspoken against him.
With Margaret Beckett on the way back too one has to ask "where is the new talent"? They are bringing back the oldies because there is nobody new left or that wants the job.
There must be someone in his crew that is kind enough to tell him to call it a day and go to the Queen to ask her to dissolve parliament.
He's bringing back the oldies because
a) He's shoving it in their faces that he's now their boss
b) He knows that they don't pose any credible leadership threat (not that he's a credible leader)
c) He knows that compared to them he's a knight in shining armour ('cause his mate Tony told him so)
d) There is NO new talent
