Investing in the steel and armaments industries in Nazi Germany. Harriman & Co (vice president Prescott Bush) did banking and investment in Krupp. Director of Union Banking Corp, assets frozen in accordance with Trading With the Enemy Act.

and grandaddy. Prescott Bush (GW's grandfather) made his money in WWII investing in Hitler. His son George being too young, he identified young lawyer Nixon as useable material, helped Eisenhower into the White House with Nixon as VP, then propelled Nixon into the presidency with George as VP: the dynasty was set up. It was nearly scuppered by the 1960 success of JFK, but in the event the Kennedys did not remain troublesome for long.
