If you ever have the chance to visit the society go on in and sample a few before you buy - they helped me use my credit card when it came to a purchase after. A few samples the slurring came to surface...

I only came in for lunch that day as well..

Yes the idea is you water it down yourself, personally I drink it neat. Almost evaporates on the tongue. At the society they provide with a wee flask of water with your order. If you're in for dinner the chap shall come along to the drawing room and inform you that your table is ready. You and your guests head downstairs with drinks following right behind... it's a hard life. Drink it neat after a large meal, great for shrinking the mass - why don't we have a foodie smiley?

"Whisky to watch the world go by' Have to get me litte book out.... here we go cask no. 2.72 that was a speyside distillery, here's the info

Outturn: 224 bottles - get in there quick :O)

My uncle Phil had a bottle of Bells with a cork stopper. He'd had it in the back of the cupboard for years. It had slowly and amazingly become rocket fuel, owing to the evaporation. Nearly blew my head off.

ps: Does typing "12-year-old" make CUK rise on Google ranks for people looking for child porn?
I've a single malt open at the moment 'Whisky to watch the world go by' it's called. 22 years old 56.9% cost around £70 - it's got an amazing aroma, let me just open it again.... gordon bennet if I keep sniffing it I'm going to end up drinking it. Lovely oak aged smell about it.

You can order them to your door I'm sure only £80 per year for membership. http://www.smws.com/

I dont like wine, thought it was because I didnt understand the complexities.. so I went on a wine tasting course, 4 hours every week for 12 weeks... I now still dont like wine but know lots about it.

Luckily I didnt pay for the course. It was paid for by my first permie job as part of its staff happiness program....

Does anyone here belong to clubs like this properly, and are they better value than Tesco, for the person who spends £5 a bottle?
Sunday Times Wine Club... great offers when you first join. You should be able to get £60 off in vouchers if you apply online. Its handy having a couple of crates at home! I haven't had a bottle I didn't like yet. :-)

I use Laithwaites and Sunday Times. Good value and some great wines and if you don't like a particular wine simply give them a call and you don't pay for it. I have done this when a couple of bottles out of a case were distincly "off". The money for those 2 bottles was deducted from my next order with no quibbles.
