Eve is arrested for drug dealing, and charged with drug dealing, murder and two counts of theft?
The Pournelle/Niven mindset. You are responsible for any other crimes committed as a direct result of you committing a crime.

    Seems fair.

Surely would make drug dealers think pretty hard about what might happen.

/Yes I know this is unworkable.

Of course it's those "nasty" types of drug that are destroying our society, isn't it?

    Er, no.

Yeah, didn't think that one through, did I.

OK, A lot of dealers, AIUI, are addicts who are needing to fund their habit, so deal with it the Swiss way then - vastly reduce the criminality, by giving out free drugs to registered addicts. As a consequence there's very little drug related crime, far fewer pushers, and as the addicts are medically monitored far fewer deaths.

Having just rescued my sister from her ex who had violence issues due to drugs I suggest the old method of chopping of the hand of the dealer, in addition cut all government benifits including NHS - you may see a one handed dealer but I doubt there would be any with no hands.

Punish the dealers help the users to clean up, if they fail to clean up then after the 3rd time treat them as delaers.

For those of you who missed it.
My youngest son went to a party while we were away on holiday last September.
He tried some drugs. (We were never told what they were)
He was found dead on the street outside a short time later.

Yes I have a rabid hatred of drug dealers.

How lenient would you want to be if it was your child?

I would gladly butcher every drug dealer alive with a Stanley knife and do it slowly
