Summer months are never a good time to look. This year I decided not to renew as we were expecting our 2nd kid at the end of the contract. Hindsight it was not a wise move.....!

People looking for PM's really dont appreciate the project management skill set and need you to have years of experience in their sector.

I'm in a specialist area of Financial Services and I have had a load of interest in the last couple of weeks, without putting my CV out. OK, my field has been very very quiet for the past year and I have been doing other stuff so the cold calling has come out of the blue a little.

Two calls today, and one of those was from a decent agency (they do exist) who asked for an update on my availability. When I told them "January" they left it at that, so not a fishing exercise.

It's true - the phone has been red hot those past couple of days, I'm negotiating me 2nd contract. I told them last week I was no interested with the on-site business. The agent told me it was a non-starter and I hanged up, that was that. A week later they are back in contact coming halfway, stupid agents... interview next week. If nothing else the frequent flyer miles are fairly clocking up...
