I've got this theory.

years ago MSACCESS was taught in uni's as an exemplar so the students could get a project in. These guys left uni and a lot of them put ACCESS guru 5 years on their CV. Rates, and the reputation of the product fell like a stone.

The same is now happening with .Net. The good guys will survive, but for the average dude or new entry - forget it.

Your theory is rubbish. .Net is not being taught in universities, it is all Java and C++ (mostly Java).

My current client has been trying to recruit for a grad to do .net stuff... paying good grad rates (£48k) and they cant get any who have done any .net, they will just get a java person and give them a brain washing course at Microsoft. If you are a grad with .net (if there are actually any) you are a lot better off than one of the masses of grads with Java.
