And the project I worked on at ClientCorpBeforeThat was canned after about a year's work by a large multi-disciplinary team

Ever had a look at the 74xx posts in TPD?

They're all one lower than they should be since the infamous 100k post deletion down in the 3000s...

Oooooooooooer... I've got a stores full of TTL... and 4000 series CMOS... I doubt if much of it will ever get used now...

The most complex gate I gave out last year was a hex inverter.

I use the theoretical database stuff quite often but boy is it dull.

one subject I never understood was vlsi and flip flops j type d type etc and the procedures/processes/steps for calculating what is doing what and what about all that theoretical stuff about database design and normalisations and 3rd normal form etc, does anybody use these principles and theories in the their work ?

I used to love all that logic circuit stuff but never used it outside education. My idea of a good night in was building things (e.g. flip flops) only using NAND gates.
