it was at the start of the conversation and the main reason i wrote the summary. uk is going down the toilet, was thinking of a holiday, ticked all boxes.. constant 32C, great eye candy, learning new skills, what more could you want?

well, i got the gig as a bit of a surprise,
- phone rang they asked the same usual stuff, i half listened, realised it was out of my depth but upped my rate slightly and sent off a drawn out 2 page wishy washy cv exec summary overview including the key words they spouted over the phone
- 8 hrs later they phoned and offered the gig
- 5 days later i land in Singapore knowing for a fact that what i'd signed up to was way out of my depth but armed with some last minute downloaded manuals I had 2 days to gen up on something hadn't actually ever seen never mind designed or used before..

blagged my way through the first week by delaying and reading up on what they'd asked that night, by week 2 I was on top of things and learning loads, were on week 4 now, design is in and PM approved, have just been offered an extension to work on a similar project while they build the network on which my designed app will fit..

key thing being I stated out right "if your not going with the standard vanilla deisgn then it's gonna push things back", surpisingly time is key and they've gone with the "we'll customise after install, good idea" approach.. fine by me, stoke up the gravy train, toot toot

Well it's been a month in sunny Singapore, i see 2uk has chosen the same day as me to say hi, before all the rumours start, no we're not in anyway affiliated.

So, what's been going on?, in the 5 mins i've quickly scanned the threads it seems WHS (aka HRH) is back, if not my guess is it's a long timer having fun. Anyhoot, if someone could provide a quick summary of May on CUK I'd be more than grateful.

NOt that you care but a quick update on my side, Singapore's great, 32C most days, the project is beyond a joke and I'm thinking of ways not to put my name to it, not yet ventured to Orchard Towers yet, the food is great, wish y'all were here (not really but it seemed the right thing to say). It looks at the moment to be another 2 month gig..
