Take the contract
Just take the contract.
Then ditch them if you want to.
God, it's not exactly rocket science.
Think what they would do if the positions were reversed.

What happens if I accept the contract job and then I am offered the premie job, will a standard contract have notice periods for both sides or am I stuck for the three months?
Should I just try to stall the contract position and how long could I do that for from your previous experiences?
Thanks
Then when you have been offerred and have accepted the permie job, just be honest - you've got something else - can't hurt, especially if the permie role is a serious long term prospect.

SupremeSpod - I just believe in sods law - I have been looking for any IT job for the past nine weeks - and all of a sudden I get a load of interviews all at once !
I had another one last week as well ...........
Has anybody else noticed some increased activity out there ? I thought these summer months were meant to be quiet.

You could always ask the permie (spit) people if they will wait till you have finished the contract (hint) tell them you have to give 3 months notice and feel a great sense of loyalty to the old firm, dont want to let them down etc...
If all else fails snot the manager.
