We DO have conscientious objectors in this country. Just perhaps not as many as elsewhere. That is why we all still speak English.

It is not the squaddies fault that we are at war, the blame lies singularly with NL. Whether you agree with the war or not, the squaddies are doing their duty, or the job they signed up for. I am sure there are a number who also think what they are doing is wrong but will do their job to the best of their ability.
Our armed forces deserve our support.

Yes, I've already put my hand up for that one. Yes, the spelling I meant was correctly factitious. In medical terms it is the proper name for the class of disorders where medical staff harm the patients, and one of the symptoms is apparently wearing the uniform in public.

The Armed Forces do not routinely wear uniform when off duty anyway. The only times it is likely to happen is if they are nipping out to the shops or bank etc. during lunchtimes or on their way to/from work. That being the case I feel we should be more concerned with individuals that abuse and confront them in broad daylight rather than asking the forces personnel to modify this perfectly acceptable behaviour. Of course in PC 21st Century NL Blighty that is hardly likely to happen.

Darn it, I did spell it wrong, "factitious", I meant. One of the warning signs that a nurse may go on to harm patients, is that they have a tendency to wear their uniform in public. Or so I'm told.
