Good point but what's the cost of living there?Originally posted by tim123 View PostWell of course it was half the cost.
It was built by Chinese workers who are paid 15 pence an hour (and no, that's not a joke)

Seriously - I have a few mates in Africa and their salaries converted straight to £ are ridiculously low - but the cost of living is too, so it roughly equates.

Well of course it was half the cost.Originally posted by Pondlife View PostThere was an article about it on CNN last night.
Twice the size of LHR T5 and built in four years at half the cost.
Total airport capacity will be about 20% bigger than LHR total.
Apparently it's built in the shape of a dragon and designed by a Brit.
Although it did displace some 10,000 people from their homes.
Anyone else seen anything about it?

One of the major factors with T5 though was the environment. They actually manufactured a lot of the materials on site rather than transport them etc...Originally posted by Pondlife View PostThere was an article about it on CNN last night.
