No, not that part, there is generally a person responsible to find long term lets for academics visiting the university or letting out the homes of their own academics that are visiting another university.

Århus is a university city so there are lots and lots of lets to be had. Try the University for a list, they will have someone that does this task, organising lets, especially.

    Guys,

Yes, I know hotels are expensive, it's like it is this side of the "sound". The cheapest, most disgusting hotel in town costs 60 pounds per night, the most expensive luxury hotel costs 100 pound per night.

Quite why anybody stays in the horrid hotel (more than once) I have no idea.

For a long term contract, the "fly in Monday, fly back Friday, staying in a hotel for 4 days" deal, just doesn't work in Scandinavia. Unless you want to spend all of your money on your Xs, fixed term rental is the only way to go.

For me, lodging with an "old dear" is also not an option. I like my own space.

Over this side of the sound there's a roaring trade in "second hand" rental whilst the "first hand" renter is staying somewhere else (for one of many reasons). There are web sites on which people advertise these apartments and this is what I need to find.

Threaded, thank you for the link that you provided but it is Copenhagen only. I have many more Copenhage lists and agencies - they all advertised in the Copenhagen freebie English language weekly newspaper (and I did consider using them when I arrived in Skåne in October and couldn't find anyhwere to live this side).

But the job is in Århus, and I have so far failed to obtain any contacts for there (OK Churchill has given me one).

And finally, the first interview (with the software house) went well and I await the second (with the end client).

    Any help much appreciated.

    Tim

What town do you need it in?
I speak Danish, so I might be able to help you out.

That sounds good. I managed to give beaker a nervous breakdown. I quite fancy trying for another victim.

Hotels in Denmark are expensive, and difficult to get long term lets in.

I know of several contractors who have taken long term lets out on holiday homes. Often you can use them in the week but not at the weekends, yet can leave your stuff over.

I've used a company called Hay4You in the past: they rent peoples homes out whilst they are on holiday, or working away, so you get lets ranging from a week to several months.

Normally though, you're best looking locally when you get here, ask in the office, there is normally a room with a little old lady, fellow contractor, that kind of thing. Most places on the net are hopeless.

    How about http://www.hotelaca.dk/ny_side_11.htm

Long term "Business Apartments" for 7500kkr a month (750 quid) try that for a while and see what pops up when you're there.
