It could be that the market is generally difficult, and it sounds like your reserves are drying up. Look beyond Telco, apply for anything and everything.
Check your finances, what debts do you have. You may have to seriously consider selling your house to release some money, better sooner than later.
I suspect advice in this area maybe more urgent than how to find a well paid contract now.
