Bit I don't quite understand is, apart from the obvious having sex with a bike part, is why he's been charged with anything at all. OK it's pretty twisted shagging a bicycle, but he was doing it in the privacy of his own room (Until the cleaners burst in), and I assume there was consent so what's he doing in court in the first place?

I think he should appeal to the European Court on the "right to privacy".
