Hang on, he was sent down on the 14th September for ten months. So he would be expected to be released on parole after five months - 14th February.

Now the sentence has been reduced to six months - so he'd expect to be released after three months. That's 14th December.

Anyone know what the grounds for the appeal were?

the shame of it all is that he was superb in The Thick of It. Doubt we will ever see him on TV in that capacity again though
