Yes, there you go, another plus point for Youth Hostels over hotel rooms. You know that no one's cracked one off, or indeed knocked one out, in the bed.

Not necessarly all the guys I knew that stayed there were £600+ a day, only reason they stayed there was they couldnt see the point in pissing money away on a place they only really use to sleep at Monday to Friday. YMCA's are a lot different these days, plus the Barbican YMCA is 3 mins walk from the city makes sense to me.

Not bad and no minimum period, stayed in a couple of "budget" hotels my first couple of weeks and wouldn't recommend either.

If your going to rent a flat try and barter the rent down its surprising how many times you will get something knocked off or they will let for a shorter term for a bit more a month etc (or so a friend of mine tells me and he’s been doing this for years)

Why wouldn't you have any receipts? You are paying money, so get a receipt for it.

You can claim whatever you like but you'll need receipts if you have a HMRC investigation into your expenses.

Yes that's the deal. It's the minimum term for an assured short term rental. I always rent it in the company name as well so there's no misunderstandings later on.
