Very true of the old ones but I am sure they have solved this with the release of the Elise and Exige....

    Winston,

    your response,

with respect to the motivation the choice of words may summarise yours and others opinions,

    however

with respect to people reading, your choice of words were not necessary

Still as dull as ever then churchill. Must be those shankill-granny roots!

Here's an idea for you. Why not google for "social crutches" + "Fraternity" and see if you can't rustle up any more insular, secretive groups to enlist with in a vain attempt to bolster that insecurity complex of yours? Or failing that you could always invest in a new bowler hat, you know that always lifts morale!!

Had 3 Lotuses (Loti?). First one (Elise (Mk1) 111S) was fine except when it downgraded itself to a 2 gear car - 1st and 4th. Dealer was absolutely useless but legal action finally got it fixed, loved the car. Next an Exige - different dealer - failed to work on the 1st day we picked it up so the dealer (Bell & Colville) went out of their way (very few Exiges existed at the time_ to deliver us another one as a loan when they tried to sort it, got it back but we weren't happy. One day, Mr WA got on the M1 at staples Corner, accelerated away and the accelerator jammed. I was behind him and couldn't work out what the hell he was doing - struggled to keep up (in VR4), finally he managed to get it to stop (can't remember how I would never had had the clearness of thought) and I pulled in behind him - both shaking like nutters. Rang B&C, pointed out that on anything other than a pretty straight, releatively quiet motorway it would have been curtains. They immediately agreed and spoke to Lotus. Lotus then invited us to the factory to pick any otehr Exige we wanted, then went through rigourous tests with us to make sure we were happy and delivered it to us within a week of the problem!! Ran it for 2 years with LOADS of fun and no other problems.

So yes - trouble but I can't fault their customer service!! If the M250 had ever materialised we would have had one of them - but went for the nob instead when it didn't.

Yes! Nice slippers, one for each foot.

The only good Peugeot convertible is a bicycle.

It obvious that a car with bits chopped off and added elsewhere won't be as good as it was originally designed to be, Merc’s, BMW's Audi's they all suffer to some degree, read reviews of rag tops and there's always a mention of scuttle somewhere, I'm not being a snob it's the price you pay so everyone can see you.

The Elise you mention was always meant to be a rag top therefore it doesn't suffer.
