You've been there three months and you've only had time for 77 posts? You must be doing a lot of twiddling!

Currently working onsite with BT but actually contracted to another company.
Everything takes forever, it's quite unbelievable how they ever get anything done. The company I'm doing work for hired me 3 months ago for a 6 month project and so far, I've had very little to do yet because everything keeps getting put back. Not the company I'm working for's fault that's for sure.

Like someone above said, once you're in, it's a nice long contract opportunity because everything takes 3 times longer than is actually required! But be prepared to twiddle thumbs for a while and spend much time on this board!

They are a 100% incompetent organisation, quite a good place to get lost in a long contract. I had graddie interviews there that rolled on for months, they eventually offered me a job a month or two after I'd started elsewhere. Every time I've dealt with them it has been a disaster. I just had the pleasure of dealing with them again ( no option ! ) when I moved house, usual month or so of getting nowhere, endless waits in call centre queues and having no phone line. Earlier this week I set OFWAT on them and also filled in a webpage complaint relating to the recent BBC Watchdog program about them and 24 hours later I had a phone connection. It was hard to get through to a real person at OFTWAT as thay have lot of standard messages about complaining about BT, things like 'we know BT do not answer their phones so don't bother complaining about it' etc etc Rant over !!!

BT make way too much money and their managers are all up themselves so far it is scarey. If they had real work to do, they wouldn't fsck people about like that.

I jumped ship from BT last month knowing that there was *another* major restructure about to happen and that cutting staff and contractors would be the end result. The restructure detail was due to be announced at the beginning of this month so they will be up to their ears in the implementation and associated fall out atm.

AFAIK Elan have the lions share of the recruitment market within BT but either way the hold up is probably due to this reorganisation and people waiting to see who and what is left afterwards.

Hmmm my contacts in BT are all awaiting a cull...seems there is, or about to be a board meeting going on and expectations are they will be out.

Your chaps could be hanging on for the result as well

I've started doing that to be honest. Its been a struggle getting my second contract and I'd almost given up and started applying for permie jobs again.

I hate hanging around like this. The agent seems to be chasing it as hard as he can but it just doesn't seemt o be top of their list of things to do
