I think you're right, but mainly as a nasty bearded little hacker rather than as a very good player. Will they remember his name though?

The emphasis on "world class" players is misinformed. Look at the rugby team - only maybe 2 or 3 (if that) would get into the best 15 in the world. But they have become greater than the sum of their parts.
Or look at the Greek team that won the Euro and have qualified again. Quite a few are over 30, none you would call world class. Yet they played as an unbreakable unit.
Get rid of the stars and get some young hungry players you can mould into a team.
