Cost me £50. Costs £10 a year for keeping it in a safe place. That was for a simple will for me and my wife. Any money goes to spouse, when both dead to children, or grandchildren if children dead. If family wiped out, it goes to some nieces. And arrangements have been made for guardianship of our children.

You can either sort out a trust as part of the will, which is costly, or sort a trust out for the insurance policies which the insurance company will do for you for free. Just fill in the paperwork that they send you.Originally posted by RightLaugh View PostIs it worth drawing up trusts for life insurance etc to keep them seperate from inheritance tax.
I only have one for the insurance, my parents have a more complicated one that handles more than just the life insurance, but they have a bigger estate than I do. They paid quite a bit for their wills, though. I know that there will be some IHT to pay on my estate, but having the bulk of the insurance money paid into a trust first will save a shed load.

If it's simple and straightforward, £100 or so. Think that's what I paid for myself and Mrs F.
If it's not simple, and you are drawing up trusts etc. then up to £500.
