Yep Hotel Seven Days is pretty good, I used to like staying in the Golden Gate (you can sometimes get good deals especially if you end up with a suite) and the Fenix just off Wenceslas Square is worth a look too, and quite reasonably priced. You'll get some good deals this time of year - if you're staying 3 or 4 nights check all the hotel websites (Expedia, Hotels.com etc); I've stayed in 5 star places for less than £80/night on a stay 4 nights/pay for 3 type deal.

Oh and second the Kampa restaurants, top notch food. There's a lovely fish restaurant as well, don't remember the name but go over the Charles bridge towards the castle and turn right, a few hundred metres up on the riverside. My missus reckoned it was the best meal she ever had but then maybe that was down to the company!

I really recommend this place for some top nosh and wines

They have 5 restaurants in Prague, and I went to one called Kampa Park

    Absolutely yummy.

And you can buy a proper book of their recipes for entertaining family with. Most of them are quite complex though and need better than average cooking skills.

I mean who has crab sticks for breakfast - I wouldn't eat them at any time. I certainly wouldn't coat tem in batter and have them just when I got up.
The Germans do a lot of things like that. I think they see it as way of self-flagellation for the horrible things they did during the (don't mention the) war.

Yep. This place is 180euro and that place is 120euro and you get breakfast.

The client only sent me here as the hilton and marriot were full. I dont get a choice, but I also dont get a bill so cant complain really.

I think that I am destined to spend a lot of time over here. Was told to get a Czech mobile and hilton loyalty card.

Ah well just had a few beers and I am flying back tomorrow at stupid fecking o'clock.

Ok, the crown plaza is officially s**t.

Apart from the free internet access I just paid £40 for a crappy meal in the restaurant that was beyond rubbish. Ok, the client paid £40 But it was that bad that I even feel bad for him

This is the crown plaza. Going to get into a taxi and just hit the old town.

Better find the sights. Been told I am back here at least once per week for the next 3 months....

Nice one. I hope you put the seat back when you landed.

Where is the Crown Plaza (region? Prague 1?)? Mr Z recommends getting over to the old town - lots of little bars and restaurants. If you like living dangerously stroll past the US embassy a few times.
