Like Liberty, Democracy's scales are fair. If tit-heads want Nick Griffin (Nicky G?) in power, then enough "X"s on the ballot forms will get him in. Sorry, but that's life.

Testing, testing
so you presumably wouldn't care if the BNP got a couple of MPs then?

The Lib-Dem's "Tax the bastards!" policy is similar to Old Labour's maxim of "Tax them until the pips squeak" that Healey so memorably crapped out of his crypto-commie arse yonks ago.
This sort of "dreamt-up during a long session on the karzie" policy is a 100%, copper-bottomed, 1-way ticket to oblivion.
The Lib-Dems are now utterly rudderless. It's bad for British politics when the parties all follow a similar path, or forget their roots. Even if Labour or the Lib-Dems are never going to be one's cup of tea, a proper, wide spectrum of ideologies in Parliament is good for us all.

Would have said that starting from the late 70's when the last Labour government was propped up by the liberals. That said living as I do in the Socialist Republic of Hackney a Tory candidate would get lynched not voted for. Therefore the only way of getting rid of the Labour candidate is to vote for the liberals.Originally posted by ruth11 View Posthttp://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main...libdems117.xml
I've never been a political person, but reading this now I'm a contractor (although it would apply to my household even if I were permie) firmly puts me on the side of the blues.
Most of you will probably say that I always should have been, and my Parent's almost certainly would, but I've never felt like the issues affect me before. My eyes have been opened for the first time!
So I apologise to all for my previous "non-votes" for the yellows, I hereby pledge that I will never do that again.

Of course the relationship between liberals and labour would be stronger than even the 70's. A Large chunk of Labour MPs went from Labour to the then Socialist Democrats who later merged with the Liberals.

Don't worry about it - the Liberals have always been Tories in disguise and now that New Labour are the Tories in disguise and the Tories want to be New Labour in disguise, it doesn't make any difference.Originally posted by ruth11 View Posthttp://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main...libdems117.xml

Whatever next?
Don't plunge your head into a bowlful of sulphuric acid
Don't jump off tall buildings
Don't stand in front of a mosque shouting 'allah was a paedophile'
