Capitalism at it's best. Enjoy it though, I took my kids in 2005 and had a great time...

The same people who used to make Babysham, which is also a Pear Cider, or more properly a Perry. Now owned by the Constellation Group. Despite the brand image they were always a commercial brewing operation well before they acquired the Glasto associations.

Another branded version is Lambrini. Not, as the name suggests, a renamed Lambrusco but actually another mass produced Perry.

The commercial stuff usually has a much lower alchohol content and contains large amounts of adjuncts like corn syrup or inverted sugar than a 'proper' Perry.

Well im on the bench as of last Friday which just happens to coincide with Glasto and the start of the summer.. perfect

Am busy packing as we speak..

nearly forgot the Disposable BBQ and steaks and a decent box of Red for after that hard drive down tomorrow evening, the lugging of gear to the top of a hill and putting up a tent in the usual downpour.

cannot wait.. 6 days of music, mud and lazyness

Anyone know if the tickets have been cloned or what ever for this event?

Seems a good idea to have your face on them...certainly get rid of those rip off hawkers so you only have to deal with one set of rip off artists!

The local pear cider drunk continuously acts as a great protection from diseases such as those... and only eating bacon sandwiches helps avoid food poisoning from some of the stranger food stalls that are there..

I went in '97 and it was a total mud-fest. It's worth it just to watch people try to walk. After a couple of days and a few thousand feet, the mud turns to glue. Watching people get one welly stuck, free it, get the other one stuck, then only their foot comes out, before falling on their @rse is slapstick and very "You've been Framed" but still hilarious. They get even more bent out of shape because they've drawn a crowd by this time.

As long as you pitch the tent out of the main drag and at the top of a hill, you're usually ok.

The toilets are still terrifying though.

    Enjoy it Freaky.

I went on one of the really wet years and the mud was unbelievable. Was like being in the middle ages or the first world war.

I got quite fed up of people saying how we should all smile and be really 'positive' about the mud and rain, when really the whole thing sucked!
I've been there when it's chucked it down - didn't really bother me too much...it's only a bit of water and a bit of dirt.
