There may well be, but I won't be reading about it every day and getting depressed. Of course, if it happens to me while I'm there then that's a different matter.

How very depressing. Makes me glad I'm going to the US for 2 weeks on Saturday.

It's all about perception. If I come home from the pub, and my missus says to me "Your pissed", I say, "No I'm not, your hearing is slurred". Makes the whole thing seem not so bad after all. Of course it doesn't work on my missus anymore, but you get the idea.

Crime is not rising. It's just a change to how it's reported that makes it look like it is out of control. I heard that on the BBC once.
There is practically no crime at all. I heard that once from a Labour MP.
