    Bed bugs are spread outside the bed and often live in crevasses in the wall, buried in old wallpaper, ventilation shafts and A/C. They will sense body heat and drop onto the bed at night and suck blood. Checking the bed is not enough. They are normally carried by dogs rather than humans.
