The Conservatives have removed the whip from Julian Knight after a complaint was made to the Metropolitan police.
The chief whip, Simon Hart, removed the Tory whip, meaning Knight no longer sits in the Commons as a Conservative, after the complaint was made on Wednesday.
A spokesperson for the chief whip said: “Following a complaint made to the Metropolitan police this evening, we have removed the whip from Julian Knight MP with immediate effect.”

It was a sneaky move by Mone. The is no reason for not "attending" the Lords as she does not usually turn up anyway. Rishi Sunak said he was "shocked" to read allegations about Baroness Mone, adding it was "absolutely right" that she is no longer attending the Lords.
The peer is taking a leave of absence amid claims she benefited from a firm she recommended for a Covid contract.
Asked about the allegations at Prime Minister's Questions, Mr Sunak said she "no longer has the Conservative whip".
