    They actually used Mac notebooks for all that stuff. I migrated a few to Windows but they eventually went back to using Macs. An impressive company indeed and I was sorry to leave that contract.

    1 contract job for me, and 1 permie job.

    Also been to a place that was 100% Mac (apart from the receptionists for some reason).

    Linux desktops? Interesting.

    My last gig I rolled out Linux desktops to approx 300 retail locations, users were happy with them and they 'just worked'. My current gig we have Linux EPOS is 200 retail locations.

    I agree since 2000 and XP windows is as stable as any other os, I think it got this bad name from Windows ME (which would crash if you looked at it funny).

    If you get BSOD it is usually a hardware fault (cheap ram, faulty PCI card, etc). That would even crash Linux.

    So much bulltulip and bigotry on here.

    threadeds suggestion might be:
    system.ini

    MessageTextColor=4

    So a bunch of coders and a project manager got together in a meeting to decide that blue was out and red was in. No wonder it took 5 years to get out the door.

    Although I did hear that most of the delays were caused by senior-middle management getting involved in and micromanaging every decision. Sounds like my job.

    You can change the colour back to blue if you want, IIRC it is the same setting as can change XP to red...
