Supermarkets are urgently recalling a number of pork scratching products after an outbreak of salmonella.
Multiple people from all over the country have fallen ill with diarrhoea, vomiting and fever after eating the products, while at least 12 people have been to hospital for treatment.
The product recall affects Mr Porky, Jay’s and The Real Pork Crackling Company products, which are all made by Tayto Group.
Mr Porky Original Scratchings, Mr Porky Crispy Strips, Mr Porky Crackles, Mr Porky Prime Cut Scratchings, Jay’s Pork Scratchings and The Real Pork Crackling Company Pork Crunch are all listed as part of the Food Standards Agency’s product recall.
People have been urged to not eat any of the listed products with a best-before date up to and including February 19, 2022.
Customers are instead advised to return the products to the place of purchase in order to get a full refund.
The company is recalling all the named products as a precaution, and have displayed further notices to not eat the products in all retail stores.
