So it's a bad thing a chuck of ice the size of Luxembourg broke off BUT ice breaking off glaciers does happen naturally too (as in, it's not always driven by man-made climate change). Surely by interfering in where it lands and drops its fresh water there could be further, unknown repercussions?

It puts me in mind of all these "rewilding" enthusiasts who can't decide which epoc a particular piece of land should be restored back to.

Anyway, dunno what a bunch of scientist could hope to achieve. Send in Bruce Willis instead.
