Super casinos
This is just the first round eventually there will be large casinos in every major city and large town, its an easy way for the Govt to make more money without raising taxes. Of course anyone who loses money in them will be on TV saying how it wasn't their fault they were drunk and stupid. If you're gonna gamble be prepared to lose the lot and be happy about it, don't start moaning afterwards.

A tale of woe:
I used to gamble when I had a tulip job and little money to try and supplement my income, stupid dark days I know but that was years ago and since I've been earning a decent amount I have lost the urge and only bother with things like 'The Grand National' cos' everyone else does.
Well done Tony just what we need, must get all those benifits and tax credits back somehow

When you become bored of money I guess the answer is to throw it away

This just sounds like another government way of fleecing people, creating a few jobs in the marginal constituencies, and collecting a few back-handers from the big casino operators!
I'll be there on openning day!!!! I cant wait!

Gen Con UK 2000, August 31 - September 3, 2000, Manchester Conference Centre, Manchester, England.
The only time I've been to Manchester.
The Vampire LARP was a giggle though.

Manchester probably got it because they've got a track record of getting things right (rebuilding City Centre, Commonwealth games / stadium, Corrie etc etc). Any projects run in London usually **** up (Dome, Wembley, Eastenders etc etc).
I can't understand why there can't be more than one though.
The cockneys won't miss out anyway. They can make a weekend of it when they come up to watch The Scum.
Blackpool is hell on earth. I've been on two stag dos there and never, ever again!

Originally posted by ratewhoreSo, now that Manchester has won the super casino (my home town ) how come london or blackpool didn't even warrant a large or small casino? It seems Hull can have a large casino but the Dome or Blackpool can't.
How queer...
