Yes we are too busy arguing if the rioters and looters might be of colour or local not agreeing that they need to be stopped in a civilised country!

Only if the protests continue to be violent, destroying public and private property; and injuring innocent bystanders. If that continues - send in the army.
So all a wanna-be dictator needs is a few vilent infiltrators in order to get justification for brutal military crackdown on legitimate protest?

He must be. The idea he cleared peaceful demonstrators out with tear gas so he could photo op outside a Church is incredible. There are times to show strength, against unarmed peaceful protesters is not one of them.
French officials have used the state of emergency imposed after the Paris attacks of 2015 to curb peaceful demonstrations, a rights group says.Amnesty International said hundreds of decrees were issued under the emergency laws, banning public assemblies or individuals from protests. France's interior ministry has not yet responded to a BBC request for comment. The state of emergency allows searches without a warrant and people to be placed under house arrest.
