Sorry my point is as a tourist everyone rips you off where ever you go in the world, so unless you are buying from the airport at the last minute you make sure you can easily check everything you buy.

When the unsuspecting victim picks up the brush and hands it back to the show shine guy, the show shine guy is very appreciative and offers to clean your shoes for being so nice. Sixty seconds later, the shoeshine guy proceeds to tell you that you owe him £50 because he just cleaned your shoes and his wife is in hospital etc etc
