I imagine in few months time a lot of art, jewellery and antiques from the era where failed painter could influence masses will be popping up on ebay or other sites (and until then people were absolutely sure their grandpa didn't have anything hidden in the basement and there is nothing to return).

Household debt amongst UK citizens is far greater than that amongst German citizens. Turns out the British love to spend their income on tat from China. Let us hope the lesson from all of this results in manufacturing investment in the UK, it is badly needed.
