I'm completely the opposite - actively avoid anything with obvious designer names on it. Frankly covering yourself in advertising is chavvy. A genuine haute couture dress or whatever doesn't have the designer's name emblazoned all over it (not that any of the high-street "diffusion" stuff was ever designed by anyone other than a Chinese sweat-shop lackey anyway.)
